Citations

Citations (/visibility/citations, or Who gets cited on the Visibility board) shows which sites and pages the AI answers to your questions cite, and where yours stand among them. A page an answer cites is a page it trusts; this is where you see whose pages those are.

Your share

  • Citation share: your sites' share of every page the answers cited in the range, per engine and then averaged with equal weight.
  • Coverage: of the answers that cited sources in the last seven days, how many cited one of your pages.

Each comes with its change. By category splits every citation by the kind of source: yours, other companies', editorial, community and other. Beside it, the ranked list of domains, with yours marked.

The table

Domains or Pages, each with its rank, its category, how many answers cited it (out of the answers that cited sources, named in the head), its citation share and its change, over a range of 7, 30 or 90 days. One of your own pages opens in Your pages, with its readability and next steps; any other domain opens its own sheet: its trend, its pages that were cited, the questions and engines whose answers cite it, and example answers. The export downloads the table as CSV.

Which engines count

Citations are counted on every engine your plan tracks: ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity with web search, and Gemini with Google Search (the pages its answer grounded a sentence on). A page an engine fetched and the answer did not use is shown on the answer as retrieved and is not counted. See The engines.
