Home and the rail
Viewfield has five places, each one press away on the rail: Home, Create, Drafts, Visibility and Brand. On a desktop the rail is the solid bar on the left with the wordmark, the five places as a glyph and a label, and two controls at its foot: the ⌘K key into Ask Viewfield and your workspace icon. On a phone the places are the bar at the bottom, with Create raised in the middle, and the two controls sit in the slim bar at the top. Nothing important is behind a hover or a hamburger, and Settings sits behind the workspace icon, not on the rail.
Ask Viewfield, from anywhere
The ⌘K key at the foot of the rail (it reads Ctrl K off a Mac) opens Ask Viewfield, the one chat in the studio. On a touch screen it is a small bubble that says Ask, and Ask shows no keyboard shortcuts there. There is no chat panel beside your work: the same box asks Viewfield anything, goes to any place or page by name, finds drafts and AI visibility questions by their words, and holds your past chats (the three newest before you type, any of them by the words in its title). From the keyboard, ⌘K (Ctrl K) and ⌘J (Ctrl J) both open it, and an old link to /sessions opens it too.
Shortcuts
| Keys | What they do |
|---|---|
| G then H, C, D, V or B | Go to Home, Create, Drafts, Visibility or Brand |
| C | Open the Create picker (Blog, X, LinkedIn, Newsletter, Just chat) |
| N | Open Create |
| W | Open the workspace menu |
| ⌘K or ⌘J (Ctrl K, Ctrl J) | Open Ask Viewfield |
Shortcuts are a second way to everything: every action they reach is also a visible press somewhere on the page, and none fires while you are typing.
Home
Home is where a signed-in person lands. It answers two questions, in this order: what should we make today, and where you stand in AI answers.
- The greeting says good morning, afternoon or evening by name and asks what we should make today.
- Create: a box with the placeholder "What should we make today?". Paste a document (about 1,500 characters or more, or eight lines or more of text) and it becomes a Pasted text card instead of filling the box: press it to read the whole text, or its × to remove it (see Create). The box's bottom row holds Attach (up to five attachments in all, files and pasted texts together, each shown as a chip you can remove), the model picker (Auto unless you choose a model your plan includes) and the round Go button. Under the box sit the formats as chips: Blog, LinkedIn, X, Newsletter and Just chat. None is pressed: press one to choose it and again to clear it, or leave them all and Viewfield picks the format from your words ("an X post about...") or, failing that, the best fit for the request (see The formats). Type an idea and press Enter or Go, and the draft is created at once with your files and your model: the page moves to the draft's loader, where you watch it being written, and then to the editor. There is no stop on Create and no research first; to research before writing, open Create. Just chat opens a conversation with your words (and your files) instead of a draft. If your plan's drafts are used up, the upgrade window opens and the box keeps your words, your files and your pasted texts. Under the box, "Last:" names the draft the workspace edited most recently, one press from continuing it.
- Brand: your voice as its blob, the "Sounds like" words, and Tune, which opens Brand.
- Visibility: how many answers named you in the last seven days, out of how many, per engine ("14 of 40 answers name you in the last 7 days · ChatGPT 6 · Gemini 2 · Perplexity 6"), when that run was read, and how many pages need a fix. The whole tile opens Visibility. The number is always from the last completed run, never a live estimate; before the first run the tile says "See where you stand".
- On your desk: your recent drafts as cards, with See all to Drafts.
- Needs a fix: the pages and questions with an open next step, each with Fix. A row that arrived since your last visit is wrapped until you point at it.
Signed out, viewfield.ai is the marketing site; signed in, / is Home. A person who has not finished the welcome lands there instead.
The workspace menu
Your workspace icon (the workspace's initial on its own color) is one menu for you, your notifications and the workspace. A small mint dot on it means something is unread. W opens it from anywhere; on a phone it opens as a sheet from the bottom.
- You: your name and email, Your settings (your profile), Motion and sound, the switch to Dark mode or Light mode, and Help.
- Notifications: how many are unread and the newest three; press one to go where it points, or All notifications for the full list (see Settings for what notifies you).
- The workspace: its name, your role, its plan (and whether it is on a trial) and how many members it has, and Workspace settings (see Settings). An owner or a manager also sees Invite people, and an owner sees the upgrade button when there is a plan to move to. When you belong to more than one workspace, Switch to lists the others; an agency account sees Your clients and Your agency instead (see Agencies). Create workspace starts a new one.
- Sign out.
Each workspace is entirely separate: its own voice, drafts, CMS connections, AI visibility, team and plan.
Phone
The same five places on the bottom bar, every page in one column in the same order as on a desktop, and sheets instead of trays. The bottom bar steps aside while you type in the editor or in Create's brief, and comes back on a scroll up. Nothing scrolls sideways without a See all twin.
Motion
The rail's keys press, tiles land with a short stagger, and the brand blob jiggles. How much moves is your choice, per device, under Motion and sound (from the workspace menu or the Settings board): System (the default: Calm when your device asks for reduced motion, Full otherwise), Full, Calm (presses and changes without squash, bounce or idle motion; fades stay) or Off (nothing animates). There is no pause button on any scene: this setting is the control. Sound is off by default. The editor has no 3D and nothing moves while you write, whatever the setting.
